Sein Aga Khan Development Network, das weltweit 80.000 Mitarbeiter zählt, ist die grösste private Entwicklungshilfeorganisation der Welt. Filmemacherin Veronika Hofer hat ihn zwei Jahre begleitet und zeichnet in ihrer Dokumentation ein differenzierteres, allumfassendes Porträt des 75-Jährigen. In Europaist er in erster Linie durch die Regenbogenpresse bekannt, der es allerdings nie gelang, ihn von seinem Vater, der ein Lebemann und leidenschaftlicher Rennstallbesitzer war, gedanklich abzugrenzen.
