OTTAWA — The Aga Khan’s white building at 199 Sussex Drive “puts Canadian architecture firmly on the world stage,” says the jury for the Governor General’s Medals in Architecture.

The Delegation of the Ismaili Imamat, by Maki and Associates of Japan with Moriyama & Teshima Architects of Toronto, was one of 12 medal recipients announced Tuesday. The award recognizes outstanding design in recent projects by Canadian architects.
