The Mombasa County government has signed an agreement with the Aga Khan Foundation East Africa (AKF) to train Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) teachers.

AKF’s director for policy and partnership, Shem Ochola said the programme will ensure teachers get practical and theoretical skills.

Ochalo said the foundation will equip teachers with professional skills to handle children in Mombasa County.

The foundation will also provide training to teachers, education officials, school management committees and communities.

“More than 200 teachers, education officers and parents will be trained in effective education. The foundation is focused in providing high quality but affordable education to middle income families,” he said.
