Mansehra’s hospital first to have telepsychiatry programme in KP (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) — Dawn com Pakistan

MANSEHRA: The General and Mental Hospital, Dadar, has become the first health facility in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to launch the telepsychiatry programme to the benefit of mental patients in the region.

The programme will help local doctors consult psychiatrists in the Aga Khan Hospital Karachi online about the treatment of their patients.


The Abbottabad deputy commissioner said taking care of the mentally-challenged people was the collective responsibly of the government and society. She praised the Medibank for its initiatives benefiting the poor people in Abbottabad, Mansehra and other parts of Hazara division. On the occasion, psychiatrist Dr Sameeha Aleem of the Agha Khan University Karachi examined patients online from her city, prescribed them medicines, and answered their questions.
