The Canadian Prime Minister and the German Chancellor have called the CETA trade agreement between Canada and the EU a blueprint for future deals. The European Parliament has approved the agreement, despite controversy in the EU about adopting it.

Merkel überrascht Trudeau mit einem “geschichtlichen” Geschenk: Ein Foto aus dem Jahr 1982, das ihn – zehnjährig – in Begleitung seines Vaters beim damaligen Bundeskanzler Helmut Kohl zeigt.

Man habe gemeinsame Überzeugungen und Ansichten, so Kanzlerin Merkel. Beide befürworten zudem den Abschluss des CETA-Abkommens. –

Chancellor Merkel says we have common values and views and that both leaders support CETA agreement.
