Hunza: Serena Inn carried out the third time “Spring Tree Plantation for Carbon Emission Awareness” at Al Amyn Model School Gulmit, and Aga Khan Diamond Jubilee School Passu Gojal, Hunza for environmental purification and beautification in the region.

Every year Serena Hotels celebrates tree plantation day with community and AKDN Schools. 250 fruit, ( Apples, Apricot, Walnut and Peaches) popular, pine  tree, were planted at the School campus.

As part of Serena Hotels responsible tourism philosophy to encourage all stakeholders to plant more trees, we constantly looking at ways in which we can reduce our carbon emissions and reduce the negative impacts to the local environment. This year indigenous, ever green trees and plants were planted in both schools campus. The management of Schools and Committee representatives thanks Serena Hotels for initiating such activities for the students and the community

Serena Hotels is an hospitality company which operates up-scale hotels and resorts in East Africa, Southern Africa and South Asia.

Serena comprises a collection of 36 luxury resorts, safari lodges, and hotels, which are located in East Africa (Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, and Mozambique) and Central and South Asia (Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan).

The Serena Hotels Group trades under the name Tourism Promotion Services (TPS Serena). The company is listed on the Nairobi Stock Exchange (NSE), where it trades under the symbol TPS. The largest shareholder (45%) is the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development (AKFED), with a further 4% owned by the Aga Khan University Foundation.[1] As of November 2011, the group has 25 properties in Africa, in the countries of Kenya, Mozambique, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Uganda. The Group also maintains 10 properties in three Asian countries of Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Tajikistan.[2]

Among its prominet hotels are the Islamabad Serena Hotel and the Kabul Serena Hotel, while it is constructing Lahore Serena Hotel and Business Complex.[3]
