Following the Mulaqat in Atlanta, Georgia, Mawlana Hazar Imam will arrive in Houston, Texas, on Sunday, March 18 to continue his historic 10-day visit to the United States. Jamati members from several regions will be traveling to the city to participate in the Diamond Jubilee Mulaqat.

Mawlana Hazar Imam’s visit comes after an official invitation from the state governments of Georgia and Texas. Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner wrote a personal note on behalf of the City to welcome all Jamati members traveling to Houston.
“Ismailis contribute to our social, cultural and economic landscape, [and] are active in civil society. You are known across the city for your commitment to service and community building,” Mayor Turner stated.
“I am excited that Houston is one of the two cities that His Highness the Aga Khan is visiting on his Diamond Jubilee trip to the United States and I look forward to marking this milestone with you… Diamond Jubilee Mubarak!”

Jamati Work in Houston will be from Monday, March 19 to Thursday, March 22.
The Jamati Institutions are pleased to share that Mawlana Hazar Imam will arrive in the United States on Tuesday, March 13, 2018. Jamati Work in Houston will be from Monday, March 19 to Thursday, March 22.
The Jamats of the following regions will have their Jamati Work in Houston:

- Southwestern United States
- Miami Headquarters Jamatkhana (all other Florida jurisdiction Jamatkhanas should go to Atlanta)

Entry Card Envelope Pick Up for Houston
Any adult age 18 and over from the family with valid photo ID and Registration Form Number can pick up entry cards for the entire family. Jamati members who have not received the Entry Cards or have questions, are requested to contact the Diamond Jubilee Call Center at 1-855-55DJUSA.
Entry Cards will be available in Jamatkhanas through Friday, March 16, 2018.
Venue and Parking
Mulaqat is scheduled at the following venues: March 20-22, 2018 at the George R. Brown Convention Center.
Parking, Drop off, and Pickup
There are several parking options around the George R. Brown Center where pre-negotiated rates have been arranged. A parking decal, available from the Information Desks at Jamatkhana, is required for most parking options. The parking decals will be available shortly.
There is no cost to park at surface parking lots which are within a short walk to and from George R. Brown Center. Shuttles will also be available between the parking lots and George R. Brown Center. Approximately 1,700 parking spots are available in the Minute Maid Lot from March 18-22, 2018. All surface parking is available on a first come first serve basis and a parking decal is required.
The cost for parking garages that are connected to or across the street from George R. Brown Center, is $10 per entry. Over 1,500 parking spots are available at the North, South, and Central George R. Brown Center Garages from March 20-22, 2018.
An additional 1,200 spots are available at the Tundra Garage on from March 21-22, 2018. All garage parking is available on a first-come first-served basis and will require validation at the Information Desks inside George R. Brown Center to receive the pre-negotiated rate. The parking decal is required.
In addition to the pre-negotiated garages or lots, there are several lots and public parking garages available within a 5 to 7 minutes walk. Metered street parking is also available on the streets around the George R. Brown Center.
